| TEST COMMENTS | For antemortem diagnosis, lymph node aspirates are appropriate. Necropsy is not recommended on Tularemia suspect animals, but if performed, spleen is the preferred tissue. Note, this is not a stand alone test and is always performed in conjunction with aerobic culture. Please place the samples in a Ziploc bag and then place that bag in another Ziploc. Please mark clearly on the outer Ziploc bag: “Tularemia Suspect�. Call the KSVDL Client Care at 866-512-5650 to alert laboratory personnel a possible zoonotic case is being shipped. | |
