TEST COMMENTS |
Appropriate samples are blood soaked umbilical tape or cotton swabs soaked in extruded blood or blood taken from superficial ear vein; necropsy is not recommended, but if performed, spleen sample is preferred. For swine, lymph nodes are an acceptable sample. Note, this is not a stand alone test and is always performed in conjunction with aerobic culture.
Please place the samples in a Ziploc bag and then place that bag in another Ziploc.
Please mark clearly on the outer Ziploc bag: “Anthrax Suspect.
